First Public Star Party of the Year Featuring “The Ring of Fire” & Jupiter

This Saturday March 12th, The Tulare Astronomical Association will hold its first public star party of the year. The location is the Arthur Pursell Observatory. 9242 Avenue 184, Tulare, CA 93274. The Gates will open at 7:00 pm. The evening will start with a presentation in the Manro Astro Physics Center at 7:30. Cost if $5 per person.

The topic will be the “Ring of Fire”. If you don’t know what that is come and find out. You will learn the names and location of seven bright stars. The planet Jupiter will be featured as well. We will watch the moon, Ganymede, disappear behind Jupiter at 9:25 and look at our own moon earlier in the evening. Dress comfortably and bring your own seating and refreshments (NOTE: no alcoholic beverages allowed on the premises).

The weather is supposed to be clearing in the evening If the sky is mostly cloudy at 6:00 pm the event will be canceled also we will post the cancelation on our website at 6:00 pm.
