January Reminders

Hi everyone!  Hope you are all planning for a wonderful holiday season loaded with food, fun, friends and family.  I just wanted to take a quick moment to remind our members that club dues are due at out January meeting.  Please come prepared to make your payment, as your dues help our club grow and meet out monthly expenses.  Many thanks for your cooperation!   I also wanted to remind all of you to get your tickets for the Alex Filippenko lecture in February if you plan on going.  It should be a great evening of astronomy and I expect it could sell out by mid January.  Tickets are available on the San Joaquin Valley Town Hall website.  Seating is $25.  Lastly, remeber to take some time to try and spot comet Lovejoy in the late December skies.  It should be visible in binoculars and small telescopes within the constellation of Hercules.   Here is a link to a star chart with its location:  http://cometchasing.skyhound.com/comets/2013_R1.pdf.

Wishing you all the best…
