Astronomy Class

This 4-week class covers the basics of astronomical observing with an emphasis on telescope setup and use.  Cost for class is $40.00 per student.  TAA members free.

The following topics will be discussed during the four week course.

  • The selection, setup, use and care of a telescope.
  • Accessary observing equipment
  • Telescope math you should know.
  • How to prepare for a night of observing.
  • How to plan and record an observing session.
  • How to find objects in the sky.
  • How to dress for success.
  • Helpful books, computer programs and websites.

Bring you own scope to each class. Make sure to bring all parts, eyepieces and your own tools to make adjustments to your scope.

You are going to learn by doing all adjustments to your scope yourself.
